Hi all! Just wanted some suggestions on products you may have tried that are good sources of protien. Someone last night mentioned Jenny O's Turkey Patties has 19 grams of Protein. Any other product ideas would be a great help, anticipating last minute easy ideas. Thanks, Prek-3

I finally tried edamame last night.  It is a soybean in a pod, and is really good.  You can just thaw then out and eat them plain. They have 8 grams of protein, 100 calories, 9 carbs, 4 fibers, 3 fats per serving which is 1/2 cup of the edible seed parts.  In a 14 oz bag there is 2.5 servings.   I found them at Walmart in the frozen veggie section. Keep some hard boiled eggs in the fringe and some spinich and some bacon bits. If you sprinkle that sliced egg on a quick salad that's a great little meal. I do it all the time. I use the spray italian dressing with 10 calories. It's the only "healthy" salad dressing I like. : ) *LINSEY*

Right now I am having a Snickers Marathon Nutriton bar.  Yea I know anything that has a candy bar in its name can't be good for you right.  Well this little baby may have 150 cals in it but the 10grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber really fills me and gives me energy for most of the day.   Jenn

Where can I find it at? Health food store? Does it taste as good as it sounds? I am assuming so if you are choosing to eat it. Prek-3

While not exciting, I find myself relying on nonfat cottage cheese as a regular protein source. One cup has 23 grams of protein, with calcium as a bonus. It fills me up, requires no preparation, and the protein count is hard to beat. On some days, adding the cottage cheese is the only way for me to meet my protein requirement.

One glass of skim milk has 12 gr. of protein.  My other favs are greek yogurt 0 fat 12 grams per 8 oz. 1/2 cup cottage cheese 12 grams, egg beaters, 1 serving 30 calories and 9 gr. protein ( one of the best sources imho) Those are the highest resources for major protein with low calorie.  I also like sardines because they are full of omega 3 fats so they are one of the best protein and nutrition resources because they are one of the only sources for rna too.

One strip of beef jerky has only 80 calories and 10 grams of protein and if you want to drink your protein Muscle Milk light has about 150 calories and 20 grams of protein and tastes really good.  Morning Star Garden Veggie Patties has 110 calories and 10 grams of protein.
