Post Date: 8/25/08 1:59 pm Good Luck Fellows, Just count on a couple of years of conscious post-op behavior modification. The first 8-12 months may be a cakewalk, but after that it will take considerable effort to lose weight. I would say follow your docs diet advice to the tee, but maybe hit the exercise harder your first two years. In other words, not necessarily a program that you can continue your whole life, but one that you can do for those first two years until all of your excess weight is off. Once it's off, it seems to be much easier to maintain than before surgery. Best Wishes, Dave My workouts max 45 minutes with a max 1 minute between sets: Monday: Chest & Upper back (lats) Tuesday: Extra cardio & Entire abdominal corset (all four sides) Wednesday: Legs, Deadlifts & Pliometric jumping Friday: Shoulders & Arms Saturday & Sunday: Social run & Swim I also do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the bike and track and various Pose Method running drills, which are also great exercise. My daily exercise time over the last year: Average 2 hours. My diet and weight training program are based on the Hormonal Fitness program by Rob Faigin. Diet is basically low carb, except for two days a week when I carb load to prevent rebound and replenish glycogen stores. |
