i had the gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago, but i never reach my goal can i get the mini gastric bypass surgery
I reapplied with my new carrier, United Healthcare -- Choice Plus -- TN, in January 2010 and they said that all I needed was a 6 month diet. I just completed that requirement and my paperwork was resubmitted. I called two days ago and was told everything was fine, it was under review, and that the only requirement left was that 6 months. Today I called and the very rude lady, Vera, said that I was denied because I did not complete that requirement --- i explained that I did and my doctors office sent in the paperwork (I completed a sheet with every doctors appt with their signature) and she said it didn't matter. She said I could have my surgeon do a peer to peer with their Medical Director or go through appeals.
Does anyone have any ideas or stories that can help???
I am trying to find the pros and cons for the mini bypass under the About Weight Loss Surgery section but they don't say anything about the mini bypass. Plus I don't feel that this is the best comparison website. Does anyone know of a website that compares the pros and cons, has the statistics listed and lists all the surgery options including the mini bypass? Please help! I want to make the best choice I can but don't feel that I have all the information I need to do that.
Thank you!
Lisa
Believe it or not, it doesn't seem to matter where you are in this journey, we seem struggle with developing a positive self image. I knew that I could be harsh with myself when I was large, but I was surprised that I seem to be harder on myself the smaller I got. I was more focused on the imperfections. As a matter of a fact, as we get smaller, it's not unusual for us to be MORE critical of our bodies, rather than more accepting. I think that for me, this is in part because I realize that I have 'done it to myself' when I see the extra skin. That said, I think it's important to not only appreciate the health aspects of our metamorphosis, but to also appreciate the positive changes in our physiques. So I'd like you to tell me at least one thing, and hopefully more, that you LIKE about your body now, no matter where you are in your journey. This is not about bragging. This is about really trying to see the positive in where you are. To be honest, it was harder for me than I thought it would be, but it's something I'm going to try to practice to see if it will help me become more comfortable with who I am now and what I look like.
There are plenty of things that I like about how my body works, but these are the things about how my body looks. I like my
- slender frame
- the shape of my face... It's oval and I always thought is was round
- my feminine shape
- the length of my neck... I never realized I had a neck before!
- collar bones
- waist

Yes, some folks can't conceive before surgery and then joyously find out they have. I don't know if that is necessarily dangerous unless you have some other condition that would put you at risk. Check with your doctor.
I had my surgery 4 moths ago and I just found out that I am 6 weeks pregnat...I am so confussed..I need help if some one had same thing with me ..I lost almot 30 kilos and I am much better now..
Everybody says it is danger for me..Can you help me
I would suggest you see your gastrointestinal doctor and maybe schedule an endoscopy. They can look down into your stomach to see what is going on. He/she also may prescribe a Prev-Pac (ulcer med) for you as well. I went through that too around three years out. Don't hesitate to get checked.
