Yes I am in Ontario too and I am seeing Dr. Starr . He is the best. I think Dr. Starr and Rutledge are partners at the same hospital with is Humber River. My operation is April 15. Hope this helps

hello shannon, to get ohip to help pay for your surgery, there is a website, clos.net there is also an ohip form your doctor has to fill out for you. hope this helps, good luck

I'm a OH Support Group Leader here in Jacksonville, FL and would like to send an invitation to anyone who'd like to join us for a meeting in the near future.
We meet on the 1st Thursday night of each month, 6:30 PM. Its a dinner meeting which is usually held at the Town Center or Tinsel Town . . . . which seems to be centrally located for everybody.
If you're interested in joining us, please let me know so I can add you to my mailing list and be sure you're invited to future meetings. Are meetings are open to people, no matter what type of surgery you may have had.
In the meantime, tell me something about you and if you have a profile on OH, please direct me there.
I look forward to meeting pre ops and post ops and those that are just in the curiosity phase of the journal.

I had MGB by Dr Ponce and Almanza but it was done in TJ. Don't know about the facility Vida Hospital. Had excellant care and no complications. Although Dr Rutledge undoubtedly has done the most MGB's in the states, there are alot of surgeons out there that perform MGB's and the RNY. Just keep researching so when you are put under you are confident in those who are doing it.

I understand. I still think you should connect with his staff. They can maybe direct you to a support group. They also would be able to tell you if this hospital in Mexico is part of their network. Your health is truly important. It's hard for me to believe that there isn't a single support group in your city but there wasn't any in my tiny town so I started my own. So glad I did. Keep in touch ok?

I have great credit but due to our wonderful economy i am not sure that financing is possible.
If I am able to financed it, I don't know if i can effort the monthly punishments.
Do you know any about the financial part? Do you know someone who can help me in that area?
My situation is that i got the lap band May 2007, the surgeon and the hospital was a wonderful experience. When I got home, i have been living a nightmare ever since. No support group, no one to talk to about my series of events, no eating direction and doctors that was on my referred list that did not want to see me because I got my lap band done in Mexico.
My lap band has been giving problems and I feel that i have to get it out but my primary dr. feels that i should not just take it out and do nothing because of all the popular obesity curses that i have to medicate. I agree but I am still paying on my lap band and i am afraid about the NO support system when after the new surgery.
At the end of it all, i am afraid of dieing young from my one of my multiple health problem. My father die August 2009 to heart failure, he was 59 weighting near 400lbs.
Sorry for the long story, just want to be real.

Hi,
I know Dr. Rutledge has gone international with the MGB. If that facility is recommended, than go for it. I know that many folks go down to Costa Rica for plastic surgery to an awesome facility down there. I am interested in going to Hermosillo, MX to get the MGB surgery, the price is lower than Dr Rutledge price.
I have anyone gotten the MGB done in Mexico?
If so, Can you tell me your experiences, both good and bad.
I want to know only about that MGB.
