We are all a work in progress! I'm 31 years old and I still have work to do and ways to improve.
One of my girls is just like her Dad (my ex husband) but honestly it suits her regardless of how I feel about him. She is thoughtful and intense like he is. Any bad behavior is discouraged no matter what the root of that behavior is (99% of it is normal kid stuff anyway! All kids test!). I think it's unfair to label someone or just throw your hands up and say "you are terrible and just like your father so you're just a lost cause and my punishment". That's sad. :(
I don't normally comment on other people's choices, but this one struck a nerve with me. My mother was terrible to my step brother because he was so much like his bio mom.

I just don't understand how so many people get in a stink over the right to bear arms and just shrug at this...
"Three of the five panel members concluded that the NSA spying programme "lacks a viable legal foundation" under the Patriot Act.
It "represents an unsustainable attempt to shoehorn a pre-existing surveillance programme into the text of a statute with which it is not compatible", they said.
The programme also raised constitutional concerns, including "serious threats to privacy and civil liberties as a policy matter, and has shown only limited value".
"As a result, the board recommends that the government end the programme," said the report."

From what I understand, he released his information to the press, to let them decide what is in the interest of the public and what is in the interest in (US) govt. security. He has asylum in Russia, but he has not given them any information. If he had wanted to, he could have easily flown to china or russia and sold them his information without ever making a fuss for himself by publicizing the massive invasion of peoples privacy.
But since you're okay with having your phones tapped, house searched, and mail opened without a warrant I guess it's ok.
It has always just been assumed that it was going on. What Snowden did is not cool. He took all of that information to RUSSIA? Give me a freaking break. How many people did he and Bradley or Chelsea Manning jeopardize that are under cover, or spies? I know it's not cool the Gov't is doing that, but there is a better way to expose corruption than to steal the documents and move to an unfriendly country.
I had a training years ago and some prison guards from Marcy were there. They get the worse guys in NY state. They have him and several other high profile guys. They siad it is wild how they bring them in like Hanibal Lecter fully armed. Then say later and these guards are not armed. They had some wild stories of just randomly being assaulted. They said you never knew. I asked why they did it and they told me with over time they make over 100 grand a year. Whi*****entral NY that goes a long way. I still do not think it is worth it.
I read an expert on serial killers who said she was a mass murderer not a serial killer. He explains the difference pretty well. I guess because of the motives is a huge part of the difference. I wish I could think of his name. I read his book and it was good. He was one of the founders for the BAU in the FBI.
I enjoyed my forensic classes! My minor was sociology so I took classes like soc of violence, death and dying, and social problems. For my actual major I got to take goodies like criminal psych, forensic psych, victimology, and forensic law. Now that I am getting a second degree I am psychoanalyzing Alexander the Great, Tiberius, Caligula, Nero, etc... Lol.
I'm alarmed by it, but I think most people expect it. I remember when the patriot act passed, a lot of people I talked to thought the government already had those rights. They had no idea how far (over) reaching the act was.
