This had really got f****** out of hand and very weird! We all have our own opinions on guns, we all have our opinions of who should have them, We have them for hunting and for protection, we are entitled........IF you have ANY mental ISSUES  I believe there should be NO guns allowed, but for us it provides our food, which I my add my RNY surgeon said, had I not ate venison  and had eaten beef I would have been dead,(venison is VERY lean) Unfortunately this is a very controversial subject and will remain so, I JUST HOPE it does not hurt the people like us who hunt! MY OPINION, IT is the nuts , mentally ill, ********ers that obtain illegal guns and cause havoc, again MO, good day all,

We're just going to remove the plastic, I have a shade cloth on there right now,  I started moving a lot of stuff outside too.  So a little of both :)

I am only just doing more than containers for flowers and ornamental plants. We bought a house in August, so I have been working on digging up the sad flower bed that were here and planting new things.

My front yard is almost completely shaded by 100'+ elm trees, so I'm going to be planting ferns, hostas, bleeding hearts, and astilbes there. In the back, which is all sunny now (we took a diseased elm tree down in November) I'm going gladioli, echinacea, alyssum, and some other things in a large flower bed that I'll be putting in. I'm also going to do some containers to place here and there.

My parents backyard is like a fairy wonderland full of flowers, plants, and a large veggie garden. I hope to have mine have a similar magical atmosphere eventually. This is my start.

Good luck gardening this year.

Sorry, I'm not following real well when you said "I've never heard anyone complain of your blatant over exaggeration of heat and humidity being an issue in Houston."

It gets hot, no doubt, and yes we can have some super humid days.. but that doesn't stop tons of people from getting out.  There are some really pretty areas in Houston, although I do prefer going to the hill country when was just want a short outing.  Went to Yellowstone in Sept. two years ago.. it was so blasted hot it was miserable.  California was the same when I was in Yosemite at the end of August.  I have relatives in NY and while the summers are  more pleasant the winters are almost deadly.  It's what you are use to, grew up in Florida humidity is a way of life, but it doesn't distract from the quality of my life.

That's awesome! Do you just grow in the greenhouse or do you remove it during the summer and let them grow out in the open? I wish I lived in a warmer climate so I could grow year round. Even in OK I imagine you could grow in a green house or high tunnel year round.

I take my herbs in during the winter months but I can't grow anything beyond that and regular house plants in the winter.

I've lived here 30+ years and go out all year round.  It's perfectly pleasant in June, July and August.  I've never heard anyone complain of your blatant over exaggeration of heat and humidity being an issue in Houston.

Heat and humidity.  Heat and humidity.  Heat and humidity.  Heat and humidity.  Plus there just isn't much natural beauty around Houston to enjoy anyways.  I've never been anywhere that 50 degrees actually feels worse than 25 because of humidity.

Why can you only be outside a few months of the year?
