Go to one of your local running stores. They should have a calendar of all upcoming runs. They should be able to fit you with a good running shoe. I have lost toe nails from improperly fit shoes.
Good luck, DeeW
THANK YOU EVERYONE! I appreciate the help! I am now registered for an 8k in Spokane, WA ---- perhchance anyone else going?

At the risk of seeming like all I do is watch television, (honestly, I don't!) I have to say that I'm totally pumped about tonight! Judging by the books this should be a terrific season. I don't know how far into the books this season is going to go, although I'm already starting to wonder if they'll catch up to GRRM in a couple more seasons. I'm really looking forward to dragons, the Red Viper making an appearance, dragons, seeing Daenerys continuing to grow as a ruler, dragons, watching Jamie deal with being back home, dragons, watching Tyrion deal with life as the son his father hates, and dragons.
BRING ON GoT!
(PS, yes it's another television show thread. Go ahead, make all the fun you like.)

Well, at this point I think we'll never really find out what happened. I don't think it's likely the plane will be found either; there's a huge area where it could have gone down. And now that the pinger on the black box is out of battery life, it's even less likely than it was before that the wreckage will be spotted.
Personally, I'm thinking it was the flight crew or that somehow some of the passengers were responsible. Simple mechanical problems wouldn't really explain the bizarre behavior and flight path of the plan before it went into the ocean. It would account for someone wanting to do something with the plane, along with a struggle and possible sabotage of the plane along with that. Political statement? Mental illness? *****ally knows at this point. I'm doubting organized terrorists, since no group has claimed responsibility for it.

I admit that I'm a little obsessed with this story. I work in a software company that does nothing but airline software, and I've flown Malaysian Airlines several times.
What's your theory about what happened? When (if ever) do you think they'll know for sure where the plane is?
I went on two cruises when I was much younger, and had a blast! Of the two, Bermuda was my favorite. The husbeast and I have been talking about future vacations, and cruises are definitely something we'll consider. Alaska would be awesome, but once he retires the Mediterranean is definitely my goal.
There's a Maine Lobster Cruise? That's great! Hubby and I went to Maine as part of our getting engaged vacation. (I've always loved Maine, used to visit a lot when I lived in Connecticut. I'd love to retire to Maine someday, or at least get a little summer place.) We got there just as the season ended, so we had most places to ourselves, but we sure didn't let that stop us from eating lobster every. Single. Day. Our favorite was one little place, little more than a shack, right outside Bar Harbor. The lobsters had just been delivered that morning, and they tasted of the sea...briny and sweet. YUMMERS!
I'm glad lobster is still on the menu!

I find mine through advertising, word of mouth, and active.com. If you download the active.com Couch 2 5K app, you can locate 5Ks and sign up from the app! It doesn't include them all, though, but I'm sure you could do a search of some kind (Google or bing) to find close 5Ks you're interested in. Good luck!
Hi Mary - check out Active.com. It will tell up upcoming events in your area, and if you join, will even give you discounts on many of the race fees!
Love your goal!
