I'm not sure if it's what you wanted, but it looks like red cross might have something set up, but I think the monetary donations are more for the shelters/food/drink they provide after any disaster, and not just this one.

The Walking Dead, of course. By now I'm sure that everyone who wants to has seen the finale. The husbeast and I are big fans, and we really enjoyed the wrap up to this season. While it wasn't nearly as affecting as The Grove (which absolutely GUTTED me!) I thought this episode did a really nice job of showing how the characters have changed, yet again. A couple of thoughts:
- Rick is gonna kick some serious Termite ass!
- I thought I would cry when Rick told Darryl "You're my brother."
- Where are Carol, Tyrese and Judith?
- On the same note, I don't remember seeing Bob in the train car, I think I remember Sasha, though?
- I'm so glad to see that Carl isn't completely lost. At the end of last season I was thinking that he had lost his humanity completely, but it seems that it's still in there.
- Damn, but I miss Herschel. I don't think I've been as sad for any other character dying than for him.
- Oh, and what the heck happened to Beth???
So, what did you think? Had you guessed what Terminus was all about? And what do you think will be happening in the next season?

Very very sad. I can imagine how this must affect you if you're the mom of two servicemen. Thank you, and them, for your service by the way.
But, seriously, what is it about Fort Hood? Twice in five years now...is there something wrong there? Seems strange.

I am 16 days post surgery, have been hanging out on OH for about 5 months.

Well, I'm about 13 months post-op RNY. I ended up unable to work for 4 and 1/2 months after surgery and experienced a great deal of pain and confusion. Because of the complications, I was unable to follow the plan as I should have. Well, I thought I was following the plan, however, it turns out that I needed more oversight. I did manage to lose about 50 pounds and have felt/experienced the positive effects from weight loss (a very favorable impact, even with the pain and confusion). The pain is a result of nerve damage and while I still experience pain, it is much better than it was 7 to 12 months ago. I am better able to follow the plan now, since I am off all pain meds and able to do some exercise.
Currently, I have an incisional hernia and am scheduled for surgery next week. I'm somewhat anxious since I was kept in surgery for 7 hours last years, which is just too, too, too much anesthesia. But also, I'm concerned that my nerve damage may worsen and set me back.
I'm looking forward to see what topics will be posted on the "Off Topic" forum :)
