Topic: Walking With Dinosaurs on Tour!

Six or seven years ago I took my son to see the live show Walking With Dinosaurs. While it's a wonderful time for kids, I found it to be great for adults too! Anyone with a geekly bent would love it, I think. And let's face it: every kid loves dinosaurs, and some of us never really grow out of that!

The show has been touring the world since then, but is coming back to North America for 2014. I highly recommend it for kids of all ages. The husbeast and I have planned a trip to Kansas City, which is the closest venue to us that the tour will be stopping at. If you get the chance, by all means go and enjoy!

Topic: how to stop chaffing

What has worked for you to stop the chaffing of the inner thighs and scrotum? I am heading to Disney world in July and want to avoid this problem. I am 7 weeks post op so the obvious weight loss is in progress but I am still going to be big. Probably pushing 400 at time of trip.

Amen to that. I very nearly had a heart attack at the price tag the first (and only) time I saw copper river salmon for sale in Tucson :'(

One of the very few things I miss about not living in Houston anymore is the lack of fresh seafood. In Houston, you get so much fresh from the Gulf.

I knew I had moved to the Midwest when I saw shrimp for 16.99 a pound, instead of the 4.99 I used to pay at Fiesta!

LOL Seriously! Honestly, since I've moved to the southwest (I'm in Arizona) I'm not about to waste ANY kind of fish, we get the good stuff so seldom! So whenever I visit my parents in Washington or my extended family in Minnesota or NW Iowa, I have to get all I can :)

Ah, we can't get mahi-mahi here either.  And I'm sure as hell not gonna waste good walleye trying it!  LOL!

You can do "mock hakarl" using mahi-mahi.

Don't ask me how I know this.

That's awesome that you have a garden at your camper. I imagine it'd be hard to can in a camper. I know when I do it my large kitchen is scattered with stuff.

Cucumbers do that to you. They grow really fast. Just like zucchini! Those things are crazy!

My garden?  It's a 4x4 raised bed, along with a couple of spots around my camper where I dug up the grass and put compost down.  I too have two rhubarb plants, although they're only a couple of years old.  The asparagus I planted 2 years ago did not survive past the first year, which made me very sad.  I planted sugar snap peas last weekend, and will do various lettuces probably today if the weather holds.

I never seem to have luck with beets or carrots for some reason, but I can get them at the Farmer's Market easily enough.  And my cucumbers "hide" on me - they get so big by the time I see them they're no longer good for pickling!  Let me tell you - canning is a challenge in a camper - I use a camp stove outside to preserve, and the tiny stove inside to make the brine and sterilize the jars.  Which is part of the reason I'm so interested in fermenting - no boiling required!
