My toast feels stuck

This is my first episode with eating. I think I ate to fast or didn't chew well enough,but I am in pain. What do I do? Can I drink some water to try and push the toast down. Crap this hurts. The tears are pouring down my cheecks. Any advice would be great bj

Try drinking something warm to help it along and keep walking around. This helps me. Linda

Thats exactly what I am doing thank you. I am gagging,coughing and crying man this sucks. The pain starts in my throat and ends in the pouch. How long should it take to wash out the toast???? bj

For me the discomfort can last a half hour or so. From what I have heard from others if you are still in pain you may want to make yourself throw up to feel better. I have only thrown up once since surgery and that was from choking on the liquid pain meds. You may want to take it easy on your pouch for the rest of today. Stick to liquids and soft mushy things for the rest of today. Bread/pasta/rice can be hard on our little pouches. I don't eat very much of those anymore. I eat Quaker Weight control oatmeal almost every morning. If I want some carbs I will eat crackers before bread or toast. Linda

I had this the other day for the first time, it was chicken and I think I ate too fast. I tried to make myself sick and I felt so much better after. It was just sitting there. It is painful I know. I hope you get some relief soon. Sherri

Thanks guys I am now good to go. Wow that was scary. I thought i had stopped breathing,but seeing how I called my hubby to cry to him,he reminded me I was talking to him,so I was still breathing lol. I just completly panicked. I guess that it was I get for trying to scarf down a piece of toast so I could rush out the door. Never again. Thanks again bj

Hi Bj, for instant reliefe, make yourself throw up, I have eaten too fast a couple of times, and rather then being in so much pain * cause I know it hurts * I make myself throw up.. it's gross and not a good habbit to get into, but you have to do what you have to do..... hope your feeling better !!
