How much is too much?

Does anyone know how much protein we can have per meal?  I am always looking to flavour my greek yogurt, and I like the taste of it with a scoop of my latest protein powder (Black raspeberry flavour).  The only issue is that the serving equals 40 grams of protein.  Should I not even bother, or can my body benefit from that much at once?  I have tried to find the answer online, but much of the discussion has to do with body building, and I am thinking this topic probably has a unique answer to do with RNY.  Any ideas?

that theory equals 95 g per day.   that is more than I was told.  I am shooting for 54gm at the most. I thought the protein number was equivilent to what your end weight should be.  I am looking to be 180pounds.

I would suggest asking your dietician, just phone them. that is what they are there for.

I remember being told at some time that your body won't absorb more then 30 grams at a time.
Maybe just add half a scoop to your greek yogurt or add SF Davinci or Torani instead.

Originally I was told to consume 56 grams of protein per day but now I definitely think that is not enough especially if I am exercising daily. I try to stay more in the 80 gram range.

For 3 weeks before Plastics and during recovery I bump that number up to 100-120 grams to promote healing.
