Any new appointments to meet surgeons in Guelph Lately?

Disclaimer:  For the past few months I've been bugging everyone on here by posting about once a month hoping to get an idea of when I will get the call to meet the surgeon!  Ignore me if I'm being repetetive, but its either you guys or Guelph that has to listen to me whine, and apparently you drew the short straw this month!  LOL

Anyway... has anyone recently gotten a call from Guelph with an appointment to meet the surgeon?  Last month I was told that O/R time is scarce and things have been delayed/put on hold for a bit.  I'm so close now I can taste it... but apparently I'll be waiting a bit longer now!    If you have gotten a call for an appt with the surgeon, I would appreciate it if you would please let me know when your first appt date at Guelph was since that is what they go by in the Yellow Book....

Hi Laura,
I don't know first hand but i did get a call from a friend that went to Windsor today for Dr. appointment.  She was told that she should expect to have surgery in Guelph early July.  She still has to see the surgeon and have the nutrition class May 5th.  Hope this helps.

 i just came from the info session at guelph and they said they are increasing the number of surgeries this year... BUT they can only do 30 a month at present

Guelph is on quite a bit of a backlog right now because of the Windsor influx.  Patients are being told to consider TWH as the turn around time is faster.

I am meeting with the surgeon in Guelph, this Tuesday April 12th.  This appointment was sent to me via mail whilst we were away on March Break.

My referral was sent to Hamilton in Nov 2009, followed up with Hamilton in March 2010, received a call from Windsor in June 2010, did all of my mandatory appointments and pre surgical work up during the summer of 2010, with follow up with SW, nurse and doctor concluding Dec 2010. Of note, I did my surgical orientation in Windsor on Jan 6, 2011.

I hope you hear soon. I know that when I went to Guelph for Orientation on March 10 they said there were 50 people waiting to meet the surgeon.

Hang in there.  your day will come, really.  I have waited 14 months now since my referral and today I started optifast.  All of the sudden things start happening so fast I didn't even feel ready after over a year of planning.  Surgery is on April 21st and I am sooooo excited but some days I get nervous and wish the days could slow down.    Good luck in your journey and once the ride starts hold on tight, it's a wild ride!

I'm 14 months from referral as well. Not sure where my delay came from, but I'll get there eventually!  LOL  All the best on the best on the 21st.  How is the optifast?  I have it at home but don't want to try it until D-Day so I don't chicken out!  LOL
