Rejections???
Hi there,
I know of a few people that have been turned down for surgery..a couple of them were turned down due to behavior issues, some were turned down because they were deemed "unsuitable" for surgery, but most of them were turned down because of issues with depression or mental health. Every person and every clinic is different though.

Approvals are pretty much done based on having a bmi of 40 or above or 35 with comorbities such as diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea. Exceptions may be if you don't pass the psychological testing or physical testing that would prove that you are fit for surgery.

like the rest said, but also they are being even more picky about it, for example a couple friends of mine with BMIs in the low to mid 40s, who are otherwise healthy, got turned down. specifically due to the fact that they are "otherwise healthy, and we're restricting it to those who have other underlying medical conditions that this can help"
