Timelines for scopes with Dr. Reed?
Hi!
I posted on Friday that I have my appointment with Dr. Reed on July 11th. (
) Yup - still bouncing about that! LOL
I'm wondering how long it takes for the scope and if it delays surgeries. I have heard a couple of different things and would love to know other people's timelines for scopes with Dr. Reed.
Was it first appointment with surgeon - scope - surgery?
Or was it first appointment with surgeon - scope - follow up with surgeon - surgery?
How long did it all take?
Just trying to get an idea of when my surgery might be! LOL One woman on here has already been kind enough to share her scope information, but was wondering how it worked for others as well with him.
Thanks for the info

Hi Laura,
i had my scope done early on in the process...right after the upper GI and ultra sound. When I was at the hospital on Friday a girl I'd met in Windsor was visiting the surgeon for her surgery date. She was told that she needed a scope, her surgery was still scheduled for a month away in order for her to get a scope done. I'm not positive but I do believe that they set her up an appointment for one while she was there. Have a great day!

Hi Laura,
I went through the entire process at the Windsor clinic. I only went last week to TWH to meet the surgeon and to get surgery date. What I did was have my family doctor refer me to the doctor that does the scope and went from there. I had an initial visit and then a scope was schedule.
I was to have surgery in Guelph but the waiting time was like October so Doctor Wilson at Windsor offered to have my (and six others) file sent to TWH for surgery.

HI Laurie,
Yes, when I went through Windsor they did not request that I have a scope done. Windsor gives everyone the choice of Guelph or Toronto and I chose Guelph. I didn't wait until the very end though as partway through the process the geographical area that Guelph covers changed and I was able to switch earlier. One of the last tests I had done was my upper GI in December. They found a problem that may need fixing in my esophagus. My GP was in the process of booking my scope when the nurse in Guelph told me not to. She said Dr. Reed would want to be the one to do the scope himself. I'm just trying to find out other people's experiences who have had scopes with Dr. Reed.
