Nut/Behav Appointments? Twice?

Has anyone had to see the behaviorist or nutritionist twice?  I went today, and they both sid they wanted to see me again?  The nutritionist said that I wasn't getting enough protein and wanted to see changes in that and the behaviorist didn't give a reason.  I thought the appointments went fine, but now I am doubting things?  Why me?  Why not anyone else I have read about?   Was I too honest with them?

I saw a nurse and dietitican twice before approval, as well as a social worker and internist once. It's probably a normal part of the process.

Most people will see the nurse, dietitan and social worker/ behaviourist at least twice (or at least the NUT/ SW). They have to make sure you are as prepared as possible. I myself saw the NUT/ Nurse twice. So no worries, its not just you.

Don't be discouraged.
start to finish for me, was around 18 months and that included visits more than once to each member of the clinic --, nurse, nutritionist, social worker, surgeon (3 times before he approved) plus I had a behavorial therapist I was seeing as well.

Well I'm not sure where you are having your surgery done... but I went thru TWH and I had to meet the nutritionist and social worker 2 times (or was it 3?) before they moved me on to meet surgeon.... they want to make sure that you are READY..... they want to make sure that you have support at home and that you will be making different food choices after the surgery - just go thru the process I know that it is so ******g to be in that situation but they are doing it for a reason..... they don't want you to FAIL

When I went, the Nutritionist said they might have me come back, then right after when I saw the SW she said that the Nut left it up to the SW if they wanted to have me come back. The SW said I was fine!?!

No worries, they should still book your surgeon appointment and keep the process going :)

I had to see both again also.  In my case, they were concerned about my mental issues re food.  Definitely freaked me out at the time, but I passed the test on the second visit.  And I do understand why they were concerned.

Many people at Humber have had to see one or the other, or both twice. Sometimes people are also referred to an outside party, like a psychologist. It may feel frustrating, but it's important that you be ready for the surgery by the time you have it. Keep an open mind... all of this stuff is part of the journey.

So what is being discussed at these sessions to prepare you? And what is different when you go back if you aren't ready after the first one?  Are you doing a questionnaire?  I'm sure that is a very complicated answer but if you can sum it up I would appreciate it.
