I think I Like Me

In the last couple of weeks I have come to a rather shocking revelation. . .I actually like who I am. I am worthy of primping and preening.

When I was approaching 400 pounds I said that I was having surgery because of my diabetes. . .I was not going to do it to look better just to be healthier. . .I thought I was happy with who I was. Recently, however, I have discovered how much I did not like who I was, I was lying to myself, hiding from the public eye, avoiding the ridicule. I never glanced in a mirror or kvetched about the colour or cut of whatever burlap sack Pennington's had on the rack. . .if the tent fit it was mine. Today, I feel pretty. . .maybe a bit vain to say but I am quite pleased with ME!

I love it when people come into their own and like who they are. It's okay to be vain. It's okay to primp & polish. We all need that. As much as I want surgery for health reasons, there is that part of me that just wants to look good & well put together.

Good on you for liking who you are!

Leona congrats to you for liking who you are. You have done so well and judging from your new avatar you look wonderful.
I thought I was happy before but I am so much happier now. I truly care what I look like every time I leave my house. Having plastics had made me feel so much more confident too.
Having RNY was probably the best decision I have ever made for me.

You go girl!!!! There is something to be said for being very comfortable in your own skin and feeling good about how you look in clothes. And just feeling like a beautiful women ;-). I always say these days that I am not wearing clothes I am wearing camouflage. I can't wait to wear clothes again and feel good in them. I will be joining you very shortly ( surgery date sometime in August) and hopefully by next summer I will be feeling like a beautiful women again ;-)). Keep enjoying your new life.
