It should have that info in your presurgical class package. Most of the time 6 months is quoted. That's when I had mine.

I went through Ottawa and they told me at least 6 months but a year would be better.

Yes, I was told 6 months, but really, who wants to drink in the winter? No thanks- I'll wait until next summer!

Definitely pass during the weight loss phase. Your liver is already working overtime you don't need to overload it with booze. Empty calories, personally I'd rather eat my calories most days. I'm almost 4 years out and I rarely drink alcohol. I had a Woodys 99 last weekend and that was probably my first drink since Christmas.

Thanks for all the replies! The urge is gone to have a drink. I really don't drink much to begin with, so I tried a new vitamin water over a big glass of ice!
It was delicious and quite refreshing

I will wait till next summer, I don't want to mess up my progress.

I'm 4 mos out and tried a virgin bevie @ 3 mos and even that was interesting. I cant tolerate
sugar like I used too and I was feeling drunk just from the sugar lol
I'd wait a while :)
