WOW!! My first pair of.....
....jeans from the GAP!!! I was so thrilled with myself that I was able to fit into a pair of jeans from a regular store (The GAP no less). I must have walked out of there about 10 feet taller than when I went in. :D Shopping in regular stores has been such a thrill, but hard to get used to. I still don't feel like I belong there.
WTG Marny!!!! I know that feeling of not belonging - keep thinking that others are wondering what I'm doing in a regular sized store
guess that will pass in time

That is great, Marny!
I am still "more comfortable" at "The Great Big "P" " store than I am in regular stores, where I continue to feel that I don't belong - even though I've lost 105 lbs. I really don't know
"how" to shop in "regular" stores...and even when I buy something new, it tends to be too big, according to my more normal sized colleagues.
Congratulations on buying a new pair of jeans - from the GAP no less!

I hear you Marni. Sometimes I am in a "regular" store and feel like people are looking at me wondering why I am even looking. When staff approach me, I think they are wondering why I am there and will ask me what I need. Instead they are pleasant and ask if they can find something for me.....it is very difficult to get use to.
The other day I picked up some size 12 pants to try on....and they were BIG...omg. Not all 12's are big, as we know each store and brand is different. But I had to buy 2 size 10. SIZE 10...me??? NEVER have i been a 10, well I was at somepoint as a child in order to get to size 24.
Anyway, this is something we all need to get use to. But it is a fantastic feeling. I did do a little mourning of no more Pennington's...gotta say. It was like a divorce, happiness but sadness, really. It was comfortable there.
Onto better things.
