So much for being excited...
So last I wrote that Ottawa had called to book my surgeon appointment for consent and missed the call. Well I called back and they had booked all of the available slots while making calls on Friday so I am SOL until the surgeons give them some more slots and I have to go back on the wait list.
I told her when they call back to just book me in and leave the date and time I will be there, not going to miss my opportunity again! So bummed out I could cry.
Two years is such a long time to wait to get so close and yet still feel so far away....
That's the end of my pity party.
Thanks for listening.

yes my daughter is Erin "mamaty" she had her surgery last Monday at St. Joe's with Dr. Smith. She is down 20lbs as of this morning, doing great. That's where I was when I missed the call, giving her a hand with the little guy and shopping for some necessities. I am a little more disappointed because I was going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow with the best present of a surgeons date vs the traditional cake etc. Right now I am fighting off the urge to run to the cupboard and dig up some comfort food.
Wow do I sound winey...got to get a grip LOL

Thanks for the kind support. It has been two years since I sent my request to OHIP for out of country coverage, received the declined letter (when they decided to stop okaying US surgeries) by courier the day before I was to go to Utica. Sent my referral from GP to Ottawa in December 2009. I had already spent over a year researching and deciding to go ahead with the surgery in the US so I guess a little longer wait and one more disappointment won't kill me.
BTW i enjoy reading your NSV posts and rarely miss one.
Thanks,
Tracey

well that was rude, nothing like waiting till the last minute to tell you you can't go Out of country. Must have been a major disappointment. you've been thru the ringer waiting for your surgery.
please keep us posted as to when they call.
and thank you so much for the support. it's nice to hear. I always feel a little bit blowy when I post things like that, but we are all in this together and if anyone can understand the little victories it another person in the process.
it'll happen,
