Quick Question for TWH'ers

Hi there,

I have a One-on-One Nutritional Assessment this Wednesday morning, and I was wondering if I should be studying the material we covered in class? Is this sort of an informal quiz session to make sure I understood the nutrititional requirements for my lifestyle change? Or is it more of a assessment of my individual health/nutritional needs?

Before you judge me for the sort of lame question, please know that I usually try to reserve my message board questions to relatively intelligent questions....not questions that could be easily answered with a little research and reading the message boards.

The reason for my "quick question post", is my beloved Grandmother died last thursday night, and my mother is a mess. She has asked for my help with the funeral arrangements....and I am currently agonizing over writing her obitiuary, and preparing myself for my next TWH appointment.

I know I can get both done...after all I was born from the Queen-of-doing-3-things-at-once...it's in the genes... Lol

I was just wondering - for the purpose of better managing my time - how much time should I spend studying for my Nutritional Assessment?  I mean I feel fairly confident in my knowledge already, but I don't necessarily react well to "pop quizzes".

Anyway, thanks for reading this...and any insight is appreciated.

It's honestly nothing to sweat over. Mine was about 40 mins. She started by going over my food log. She's going to want to see that you understand the problems with your current eating, what changes you've made so far, and what else needs to change/will change post-op. She'll want to see that you understand about vitamin supplements and protein supplements (and that you have the ability to purchase these and take them regularly post-op) and their purposes, and why you need to eat a protein based diet post-op. It's a discussion, not a test.

Don't worry about it and just focus on your family right now, that's what you need your energy for. Condolences.

Patxyz, thank you so much... I feel better now, and confident that I can answer those types of questions intelligently. Now I better go and finish writing... so much to do, and to be honest - sort of glad that I have "details" to focus on, instead of my grief.

Hi,

"When i went to TWH for my one on one nutrition, they did ask me some questions about the materil that was covered in the 2 hour session.  Don't worry, it was nothing that you had to study for.  I just reread the material on the way there and it was all okay. Take it easy and don't worry.

Dont worry about your appointment.
She will also ask about post op diet. What you can eat in each, Not stressful
I also brought a list of the vitamins I purchased for postop and she looked at it etc...
Very pleasant appointment overall.

So sorry for your loss, Toni - my condolences to your family.  Don't panic over the NUT appointment - it's not like an exam - just read over your handouts & you'll be fine.

Hi. I just had my one on one nutritional assessment at TWH. I mostly remember questions about what i can eat at the different stages after surgery. Also questions about what suppliments i need to take post op. Hope this helps.
