My surgery was cancelled today!!
So happy to hear it's been rescheduled and not cancelled! I had to deal with my surgery being rescheduled 7 times but never at the point where I was waiting in a gown in the hospital. You have to psych yourself up so much to get there in the first place, have courage, it happens when it is supposed to.
Ashley, this is the ultimate bummer. So sorry to hear you were cancelled. I heard there was an ecoli or staph infection -or maybe just flu?!?- outbreak at St Joes, so its better that you are home & healthy. I can't imagine recovering from this surgery and having to deal with an additional illness. Wash your hands lots, and keep your head up, your day will come :)
That's too bad!! And such a long wait too. I heard of an outbreak too....def better to be at home, then in the hospital with that around!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
That really sucks!!! I am so sorry that happened to you..especially all the waiting...it's like having a gift waiting for you and being told you can't open it...it's not fair...i hope you get a date very ,very soon..In the meantime be proud you made it this far and the finish line is just ahead...stay strong and postive
