Rexall 24 Multi vitamins
So I've been looking for the life brand spectrum 22 vitamins at shoppers and for the last 3 weeks they have had none... I was going in every 2-3 days and they kept telling me they were out and they should be coming in in the next few days... Finally I found out yesterday that apparently they are being replaced by an unknown product , and that they have none in the warehouses. This problem has caused me to not take any vitamins for that time period(I wish someone would have done there job to begin with and have looked into the problem earlier), no need to scold me, I'm mad myself and Tim has expressed his dissapointment very strongly....I've made an appt with the Doc tomorrow to get blood test to make sure I'm ok
So out of pure desperassion I went to rexall today, and picked up there One Daily Tablet with 24 essential vitamins.... It meets the Ottawa requirments of 18 mg of Iron and 0.4 mg of folic acid, so it's good, BUT they are not chewable...
My questions is, the pharmacist says I can chew em, but they are very hard, so therefor hard to chew... Now they aren't very big they are little smaller lengthwise then a nickel, they're not very thick either....Can I just swallow em, or should I at least break em up?

Is there also calcium in the multivitamin? Studies show that anything above 40mg of calcium will cause interference with the absorption of iron in the multivitamin. This is another reason why it is a good idea to supplement iron seperately from your multivitamin. Since you're getting blood tests anyway, ask your doc to check your iron levels and B vitamins. If you haven't been taking seperate B12 and iron already, you will probably need to start.
not to begin a controversy.
.I am still amazed at how many people take over the counter vitamins that are NOT formulated for Bariatric patients.
I truly wish that surgeons and clinics would do more research and put more thought into recommending Bariatric formulated vitamins....

Why Mary? There are many very complete, appropriate vitamins that we can take without them being "bariatric-specific".
