Surgery JAN. 19th, 2012 - Down 120 lbs & 75 inches @ my last Weigh in!!!!

I was on Opti for 16 days ( I started 2 days early with wife"s leftovers) and I lost 28 pounds. I had killer headaches for the first 5 days and the trots the whole time. That said I would do it all over again if I had to in order to give myself this second chance at life.
Even if you don't lose that much, you are making yourself healthier for surgery and setting yourself up for long term success. I know it is hard(especially with the Vanilla) but try and picture yourself 3 months, six months even a year out with every sip. Optifast will be a distant memory on your first surgiversary, but your new life will be going full tilt!

I lost 23 lbs and had to do three weeks.
It was hard because I started November 28th and had my surgery December 19th....through every Christmas party and feast I still was obligated to attend it made me stronger even when I had the days that I cursed the opti gravy! I was a bit of a grinch at times and sometimes that was okay...I even had to attend a fully catered 4 day tournament that served the most amazing food all day in our dressing room while I was on opti and you could always find me shaking my opti and firing up the kettle for some *****in broth! lol It made me feel strong the longer I went but some days in-between were hard...it's going to be, you're detoxing...just fight it and know that it's the start of a beautiful thing. Opti is the ugly duckling of a beautiful thing to come....new life!
I mostly just thought "no pain, no gain"...I'm now just moving over to soft food stage and I can say it was worth it! Every minute of it!
You can do it!

I lost 15 lbs in the three week optifast, the only thing that saved me from eating the furniture was that we were allowed beef boullion. A mug of hot beef boullion after my supper shake felt like I was eating soup. It really helped trick my mind into thinking it got food. It took me a good 8 days to hit keretosis and not be as hungry.
