Thanks for the advice all!  Will wait for a bit to search for summer things, but good to hear that it is liekly available.  I never pay attention to that stuff.  I buy my summer clothes, usually in the summer :)

We are going on a cruise in Feb and i found some nice things at Giant tiger, They also had alot of summer clothes on sale for $5. so you should be able to find something in there, or try VV boutique or sally anns.

enjoy your vacation, this too is my first vacation as a "Normal" sized person. i'm so excited.

Enjoy your trip, whereever you decide.

I have been to Jamaica, very beautiful there.  I stayed at a Sandals resort for 2 weeks though.  The food was awesome and a wide variety.  In terms of safety, I wouldn't wander off the resort but the people on the resort were very nice and friendly.

Not sure if someone already suggested this as I didn't read through all the posts but did you try online shopping?  You might even find clothing on the Shopping Network under the clearnace section as they will always try to clear previous season stuff.  Or, if you need shorts, try getting a cheap pair of jeans (Value Village) and cutting them?

Have a wonderful time!

My hubby and I went to Mexico 7 months post op (Dec) and 3 months after I had my old summer clothes on. I went to value village and got a lot of clothes as I knew by next summer my size would be totally different . Also, ask around I borrowed a couple of maxi dresses from my Mom(she is hip) and even a bathing suit from her (she is my Mom). I also bought a bathing suit at Walmart cheap knowing again I would be a totally different size come summer.
Also seriously I lost 7 pounds on vacation and I think it is because I was eating really well, 3 meals a day lots of chicken and veggies. As for drinking I did not partake BUT I brought my favourite Crystal Lite (lemon-lime) and had the bar mix me an ice slushie and I added alittle water and my crystal lite YUMMY!!! So I also got all my water and then some!!
Jamaica is beautiful no worries there if the price meets your pocket book go for it!! ENJOY!!!

P.S. Best traveling tip I ever got .... bring half the clothes and twice the money!!!!

I saw those swim suits at Costco - great brand and great price.  Usually that brand is a lot more.  I intend to buy one to wear at my pool and maybe one for this sumlmer.
