Booster Juice?

TGIF!

I had a Booster Juice today. I had the High Impact Acai with raspberries, cranberries, skim milk and whey protein powder for a total of 25g grams of protein. They don't come in snack size, so i am still sipping on the one I bought at around 1pm today. The shakes come with vanilla frozen yogurt but I asked them to hold it.

Do you see a problem with having these Booster Juice drinks? Have you tried them?

I had one about a month ago and asked for extra skim milk instead of the yogurt.  I thought it was nice, but ended up throwing out at least 1/2 after about 4 hrs.  I'm not too sure how long they are "good" for.

I stopped drinking them after surgery. They're very high in sugar and calories.

Does the sugar and calories not come from what we would be consuming anyway?

Not really. I wouldn't have 300+ calories worth of fruit in 1 day. That's mostly where the sugar comes from, which is healthier than added white sugar but it still equates to more carbs than I'd like in 1 drink.

I'd always order the Mango Hurricane. It has 396cals and 99g of carbs - 94g of sugar and that's before the protein boost. That'll add another 100 calories.

Read the carb count on this LiveStrong website listing the nutritional information for Booster Jiuce.

I think you'll be aghast, like I was.
I love those juice shakes!
But I'd be intaking my whole carb count for the day AND THEN SOME in just one small size Booster juice!

WWWWWaaaayyyyy too many calories, carbs and sugars.  Do yourself a HUGE favour and skip these "special treats" until you get to goal.  The centres warn us about too many liquid calories and this is exactly what they mean.  While you might see "high protein" being there, you are going to also take in as many calories with these as a big mac in some cases. Seriously.

You need to make the most of your new tool and protein first, doesn't mean these "shakes" or "smoothies". While they seem like they are protein shakes, they have too much added stuff (especially carbs and calories) that will slow down your weight loss.  Find yourself some kind of alternative like a nice herbal tea that you like or a low carb/calorie shake that you enjoy.

 Agreed wholeheartedly Dawn!!

I had one of these post surgery. I asked for the on that was the best sugar/fat wise and added protein. They didn't have nut information in the store. I had a two for one coupon so a sleeve friend and I got one.

Got home and looked it up and found out it was over 500 calories!! That's all I was eating in a DAY!! I quickly handed over the other half to my son and threw out my coupons!! Lol

Only 500 calories a day? How are you not starving to death. Yikes!
