All my gallbladder pain was in the middle of my back. The pain seems to shoot wherever it wants. I thought I was having a muscle spasm and it turned out those were my gallbladder attacks. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of your pain.
Thanks for replying about where your pain was, that is good to know. I will definitely pay close attention to my pain *IF* it returns. And, if I must, I will reluctantly go back to ER. Hopefully bloodwork & Urine test results can shed some light on it.

Toni, I was living in Sudbury when I had my attacks and ER was useless. They just kept sending me home saying that it wasn't an emergency. Excuse me but when I am doubled over in pain and puking my guts out from pain, it's a damn emergency to me. At first I wouldn't vomit and then once the vomitting would start, it was gut wrenching to the point of dry heaves. I hope you both get some answers as any pain is no fun.
Ya, I hate that hospital, I really do. Well I am going to do more research on gallstones and be damn sure I call my doc tomorrow. Do you know, can gallstones only be diagnosed with an ultrasound?

I believe that is how they do it now. 21 years ago, they used to make you eat a fatty meal then take these pills and xray you but I have read on here that many are found via u/s now.
Did they palpitate the area on the right side just under your ribs to see if it was tender? Your GB is located in that area and even if you don't get the pain there, it might still be tender.

The ultrasound isn't definitive though. I've had two ultrasounds and no stones can be seen, but my doc and a GI specialist are absolutely sure I have gallbladder problems and that I have a sludge that is a pre-cursor to stones that won't show on an ultrasound.
I've had two bad attacks in the middle of the night. It feels like someone ha*****hed me hard in the middle of my back, and then the next day I have lingering soreness on my front, ride side, right at the base of my ribs.

Tracy, did you ever have gallbladder issues before WLS?

So far have gotten through the day with no attacks, knock on wood! I think I will put a call into my family doctor, I think I am due for a physical anyway. If I have another attack today then I will make sure I get seen ASAP but if not then it can probably wait. I hate to think of it being my gallbladder because I really don't want to have to go for another surgery!!
