Back to work tomorrow...any advice?

Well the time has finally come... time for me to get my ass back to work. While I have enjoyed being off and adjusting to my new life/lifestyle, it's time to return to my old life...and somehow make the old fit with the new.

Does anyone have any advice or tips to share for someone returning to a hectic & busy office setting?

The way I see it right now, if I plan to succeed....then I should be ok. I have timers set in my iPhone to remind me to eat & drink water, and take my vitamins... Hopefully with time, it will be easier to remember these things automatically...

I've been known to ignore cues from my body in the past, and I am going to try NOT to allow that to happen anymore...no more ignoring the messages my body is trying to give me.

Anyway... if anyone has any stories to share or tips for success, I am all ears!

Yes, two months. I have a good job with good benefits which allowed me to take the time off. It was important to me to get all this post-op lifestyle changes straightened out and clear before getting back I the groove. I was still experiencing healing pains at 5 weeks out, but all of that seems to have healed up nicely...and now it's time to get back.

I totaly agree..I'm leaning towards taking off six weeks..even if I lose like a grand or more I don't care....I also like the idea of adjusting

I was off for nine weeks, Scorpioboy. My surgeon had no problem with it, just advised that my employer might have a problem with it. He just wrote the date of return on the note, and i handed it to my employer. I have a good benefits package, tho, so that's what makes the difference, i'm sure

Toni happy first day back at work tomorrow. Wow two months really flew by huh. The only advise I could add is to pack a lunch and don't rely on the cafeteria at work or going out, often times you have to settle for what is on the menu and this could be problematic.

Having your lunch ready with all your protein first foods on hand is key. I usually have leftover dinner for lunch the next day so I always make extra to ensure that I have lunch. I also keep almonds in my lunch bag in case I need an extra boost. I also keep vitamins and my calcium tablets in my lunch to so I don't forget to take them.

I hated the idea of going back to work but after the first day I was really glad to get back into the swing of things and start getting back to "normal"......well whatever normal is lol

Have fun tomorrow

Ann

happy back to work day Toni!!! i aggree with what happypants said definantly bring your lunch and keep your vitamins with ur lunch thats what i always do. try to plan ahead and that way u always know what ur lunch and snacks will be. i find those little pill containers to be quite handy for the vitamins as they fit nicely in ur lunchbag or a purse.  have fun as u adjust back into the work world the time sure does go by fast!!xoxo

Hi Toni

DON'T GO BACK, THE WEATHER IS GONNA BE SO NICE LOL

Seriously, take one day at a time. Make sure you get your food and water in. Sounds like you have that covered. Have extra healthy snacks so you are not tempted with other things

Have a great day

Joyce----Today is the first day of the rest of your life
