Congrats!! FYI I picked a friday to have my surgery cause on the weekends the mngt is not around and hospitals are simply nicer places ( I have worked in one for 25 years) I did well, got up and walked as soon as I was back to my room, drank my 30 cc every 15 mins when awake ~~ they sprun me loose on sunday am. That was an advantage as well as the trip home was not too bad no traffic on a sunday.
I am not far but TWH to scarborough~~during rush hour that can be over an hour trip!
Honestly if you are feeling Ok no complications, moving and drinking well there is no need to stay in hospital and you are way more comfortable at home in your own bed or on your own couch!
I slept on the couch for a few days post op-it was simply easier to get up and I mostly slept and watched TV (or had the TV on in the background for noise) for about a week. When I laid down I fell asleep when I was awake I tried to wander the house. The advantage with May surgery is better weather so you could wander around outside.
Good luck to those who have a date, it will be here before you know it
Ps, opti was difficult-really bad breath, I used major pepermint gum most of the time, and I was hungry more than I have ever been in my life the entire time I was using the opti!
