Friends.. I know you are not supposed to consume alcohol for at least 6 months post-op...

But when I hit 6 months, I am entering party season... just wondering what you seasoned post-op vets drink... something that keeps the calories at a minimum...

Like Vodka + Crystal Light?

Has anyone tried the SkinnyGirl Margarita Mix? I'm not 100% sure that's what it's called... I always call it Skinny***** Margarita Mix because it's more fun to say....it rolls off the tongue... anyway, apparently it's a low-calorie type deal...

Oh wait... here's a link to the site www.skinnygirl****tails.com/#the-****tails

Has anyone tried these? Are they even in Canada yet?
It's been F O R E V E R since I've been to the liquor store....

Does anyone have any suggestions or recipes that they can recommend?

Curiously yours,

Wine is low calorie and you can get Canadian 67 that is low calorie.  We were told we didn't have to avoid carbonation forever so beer is fine for me but your centre may be different.  I like vodka and some of the crystal light flavours or vodka and the diet juice from Ocean Spray.  Tequila and lime crystal light is good too.  Not sure what your usual poison is but there always seems to be a way with any of them.

Just make sure you have your first drink at home without company because you may be **** faced after a few sips let alone a whole drink.

My usual poison was Rye (Whiskey) & Ginger Ale.... my absolute fave... I've never been overly attracted to the really sweet things like some of the coolers out there.... I like Bud Light Lime once in awhile, I love Vodka of any kind really...  as for wines I am more of a sweet fruity wine... Like a strawberry zinfindel...

My first drink will absolutely be with only my hubby, and maybe my parents around... they are aware of the surgery and the potential side-effects of alcohol on my system...

They always thought I was a light-weight before when it came to alcohol...because I really only used to drink once or twice every two months or so... socially, but not regularly. .. which is why it was easy to give up for WLS...

But now that it's been a while, I think subconciously I want to drink *only* because I am not allowed to ...it's funny how that works.

You still have rye and diet ginger over ice and stir out the bubbles but rye tends to be on the sweeter side depending on which one you drink.  Rye and diet pepsi with a twist of lime was my poison of choice.

I always drink Wiser's... I find it quite smooth. :)

Looks like it's 69 calories per ounce so not too bad.  I'm a Gibson's Finest girl.

Enjoy a beverage.
I know that after surgery. The alcohol will affect you fast... that's what I have heard from a few friends.. who have had WLS.
Thanks
