I got a set of the ones that fasten to your bra for my own wedding... Love/hate relationship here I went.
And no... NEVER trust flappy little crossed over holes.
Surprisingly I was very happy with the way they worked. I litterally was THE FIRST to buy the plus size version of the one with the bra loop things while IN Canada. I called around... no one had them but I knew they were in the US. I called the distributor. He was the distributor for Canada. He had JUST gotten a shipment of 1x-3x in. We were unsure of what size because i range 1-3 depending on what it was. Arrangements were made to go to Markham to a store that carries the ENTIRE line. The owner was in shop waiting for me... She pulled out a 1, 2 and 3 for me... I started with the 3. It fit... really! But was actually loose... So I went with the 2 next. It was support and comfort still. I had the ticket.
The only words of wisdom I have about spanx are these:
1. HAND WASHING IS KEY!
2. TAKE YOUR RINGS AND BRACELETS OFF!
Before trying them on, or even putting them on at home. Rings, and dangly bracelets need to be OFF. Trust me here. Rings rip, and tug fabric, and bracelets that dangle... well... Let's just say when you reach around back to pull them up...DAngly bracelets getting caught can really be embarassing. Picture calling a friend over to detangle your spanx so you do not rip them... hobbling downstairs to let them in... and having to lay over the arm rest of the couch while your friend detaches your hand from your arse. Goodness LOVE my friends!
3. If you layer a top (cami) and bottom... ALWAYS tuck the top inside the bottoms. Even if it is the panty style or regular panties/thong,etc. It keeps things from doing the upwards roll up.
4. The one with the bra attachment is actually a complicated thing. I found for me... If I hooked the loops to my intended bra... put the bra on. Pulled the bottoms up... Did up the two sides first by sliding the loops over the metal (like a removeable bra strap hook), then did back, then front it worked best.
No matter WHO you are... The back loop is usually on the longest one, the front on the shortest, and the two sides on the middle setting. It helps to just set them up first.
never used the "hole" wouldn't chance it although I drink very little when wearing my spanx...LOL
also for thos ethat like their Spanx..just know that Ebay often sells them for 1/2 the price that your local store sells them for..once you know your size..it's worth checking into.
I recently saw an auction for 4 pairs of Spanx for $40~!!!!
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
