Intervention *opinion* please
Yes, yes, I know you're all not doctors, nor do you play one on the Internet.
My question - for those of you who have had an intestinal blockage - at what point did you decide to go to the ER instead of your GP? I have an appt. with my GP this afternoon at 2, but I'd hate to waste all this time if I should just go to the ER.
Thank you for YOUR experiences.

I called TWH when I stopped pooping and then had pain. I called on a Wednesday, had an ultrasound on Friday and went in to talk to the nurse, who talked to the surgeon on Tuesday, I believe. They told me if my pain came back and lasted longer than 2 hours, without any gas passed, or BM, then to go to the ER. I don't think I have a blockage anymore, just constipation with gall bladder issues. I'm still going for the tests regardless, which aren't until later this month.

Thanks Tracey. I just talked to my GP for her advice - since the appt is just a couple of hours away, she's advising I see her as she can get me in quickly (quickER anyway) at the hospital. It's manageable. Trust me, if I get to "that point", I'll be calling 911.
