Guess what? This is for LIFE.
I just read a post that angered me so much, I had to take a breather outside in the yard.
I don't care if it's weigh-in day, surgiversary day, or any day at all. DO NOT put your health at risk to lose a couple of ******g pounds for a weigh-in. Good gawd, people.
This is for LIFE. Not a day, not a weigh-in, not a surgiversary - for LIFE. Be kind to yourselves and be so proud of every pound you've lost and every victory you've won. You are all beautiful, kind, worthy people, despite a pound or two.
Please.

Janet, it is so great to see you! You're looking fabulous. :)
Y'know.... when someone is bat-**** crazy with insane advice, I just can't let it go. I wish other people would feel the strength to speak up when they know something isn't right. Jeebus.
How was your summer dear? Do lots of fun things?
BTW, nice melons. LOL

Ok... I will say it. I am with Karen on this one.
Linda,
I have shook my head over things you posted in the past. I let it slide for the most part because hey... We are all our own person but I am going to say something very blunt.
If YOU are a "Nurse In Ontario" (your own words in your own post... Don't bother editing it... I screen captured it too... So enjoy it in all it's glory!)... Which you have openly admitted and posted in other threads. You cannot be telling people to do something so unhealthy. I don't give two %$($'s how far out someone is from surgery. You should have kept your PROFESSION out of your PERSONAL posts allowing you to say WHATEVER you feel like... Or you should use some judgement.
Here is just ONE of the times you posted your "profession": http://ec2app14.obesityhelp.com/forums/on/4567154/Insulin-and-Metformin-post-surgery-question/#37859814
WTF were you thinking?!
Who cares how far someone else is from having had their surgery. Who says someone 3 weeks out won't use YOUR method to "fix a stall" and do damage.

I totally get your frustration. We have a moral duty to provide advice that is helpful, not harmful.
Anything that promotes unhealthy habits, going against protocols by surgeons etc should be avoided. It disturbs me when people encourage others to cheat on optifast or to go against the rules of their centre or to engage in any unhealthy activity.
I think morally we should be above that and yes because we want others to be healthy and successful.

Exactly. And this is what I found so disturbing about the post that started all of this. The poster in question was "joking" apparently. Okay, I get that. We all joke. The thing is... we make it clearly known it's a joke. That, and most of us who say silly crap have been around for years, so people KNOW it's just that - silly crap. This poster, however, is new. She has no history or positive behaviours or kindness to base an opinion on of whether it was a "joke" or not. Very poor social ettiqette in my opinion. What if a newer post-op who may not be as WLS savvy as some others read that and thought, "Oh. Maybe that will break my 3 week stall!". Dangerous.
Thanks for your input Dawn.
