So sorry to hear about your struggle. I recently went in for lap surgery for the repair of a possible hernia and it turned out to be untussusception in 3 different spots. I am now a month out and still experiencing pain. I am terrified it is going to come back. What are your syptoms? I was hospitalized a month ago with more pain and am on morphone now for the pain awaiting more tests....have to have a colonscopy to rule out chrons disease. Hang in there and I hope the results are good for you.
My episodes seem to come and go. I have had numerous episodes but they started getting more serious in June. I have a very long "torturous" bowel that spasms all the time. This seems to move things around a lot internally. I can see it if I am lying down.
My pain will normally start right in the centre of my abdomen and to the right. Very sharp, spasm like waves of pain with nausea but no vomiting (I have not vomited once in 5 years). I can't lay down flat but almost need to curl up around the pain if it is particularly bad. I have made 3 trips to the ER for this but other times I just ride it out at home in bed as I can't face sitting in the ER waiting room for 5-6 hours before I get seen.
I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and barium enema last summer with no major findings except the long "torturous" bowel. Only thing to note was that the bowel prep did not work well for me. I don't think I absorbed enough of the meds to make it effective.

Needless to say I was not expecting to be having surgery this morning when I came in. I was thinking it was probably an ulcer or sphincter of oddi dysfunction.

Wow I hope they can do your surgery LAP. I will be saying a prayer for your recovery.
