Question re. our forum

I hate when people ask questions that they should know from the documentation that is given at their appointment but I know not everyone reads whats given to them and not every centre gives out the same info.
I do not post anything emotional anymore because every time I would post something in the hopes of getting support there was at least one person who basically would diminish my concerns (not the same person each time).
I think that this weight loss journey is both an emotional struggle as well as a struggle to keep up with the information.
I joined this site to hopefully get some of the emotional support that does not exist in my real life because everyone I am close with has not had the surgery and therefore really doesn't understand.
I don't post alot because right now I am dealing with alot of emotional issues with WLS and don't really want to read comments such as "he was just joking.. he didnt' mean it... only 89 pounds? I've only lost 60.. suck it up.. etc."

Sometimes, when people try to "diminish" your concerns, i think its coming from a "helping" place. Maybe. I could be wrong. The person who said "only 89lbs", may have meant to say that your weight loss is pretty awesome, and you should try not to compare yourself to others (that's what i would have meant anyway).
Sometimes, sending a private message to someone you feel comfortable with, about your emotional stuff, might be better, if you feel you're not getting the support in the forum.

But I have NEVER felt uncomfortable...not once! And the vets on here have been nothing more than helpful.

I find it outside my comfort zone to post, fear of lash back etc. so I generally comment only on positive things like, check out my progress pics, got my date etc...

This forum is fabulous...but because I am pre-op I don't have the questions, yet!!! But I know once I have surgery I will be on here constantly (like I'm not now) talking and asking questions. People on this site are such great supports...can't wait to get to know you all.
One thing I can share is that I am finding that I am a little overwhelmed by the whole process and the upcoming stage of optifast and then surgery. But I find coming on here and reading your posts are helping me stay grounded. Thanks for that!
