Found this delightful little article in the Mississauga News - I love the expression "Give fast food the finger!".

It's a good article. My only concern would be the backlash against anyone that was obese already. Having the slogans used against them.

Yes, that certainly could happen, you're right.

“Almost one in three Canadian children — 31.5 per cent — is now overweight or obese, up from 14 to 18 per cent in the early 1980s,” the OMA report said.

And apparently that's about 1/3 of the student population that might suffer some form of backlash.

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

Perhaps. It might also catch the eye of a few kids who will be willing to undertake the challenge for November.  I still like the message and would prefer that groups of youth do something proactive about issues than remain silent.  I'll have to watch the headlines to see if there is indeed any backlash from their campaign.

Interesting!  I read about this the other day on Yoni Freedhoff's blog.  He's usually pretty careful about stigmatizing obese people, so I'm thinking this campaign is more concentrating on the fast food itself than about people who are obese.  At least, I hope it is!
