Update on Intussusception - surgery scheduled
Just a little information to add to this. I am over 5 years out from my RNY. I had emergency surgery 2 days after my original RNY to correct a bowel obstruction and resection the piece that connects back to the intestine. I have been good for almost 5 years. Then things just started to go wrong and I was having a lot of abdominal discomfort and pain. In my heart I knew something was wrong. I have had 5 ER visits for severe abdominal pain. They always seemed to be blaming it on possible appendicitis or constipation. They would give me strong pain medication and eventually send me home. The intussusception was found on CT kind of as a fluke as it seems to spasm and obstruct and them release again after some time. Thankfully I have found a skilled surgeon locally who know what our altered anatomy should look like. If I was sent away again I would have driven several hours and went to one of the Bariatric Centres.
If something feels wrong document what is going on and don't let them send you away. I'm not talking about a little gas pain or stomach ache here. I am talking about severe pain that doubles you over and makes you feel very sick to your stomach.

Sorry to hear about the issues, and glad you caught it. I had open surgery as a teenager, it leaves scars but it is safe enough. But right after a tummy tuck! OMG!
