NSV - from Santa
Well from the Arnprior Santa Claus parade any ways. A club that I'm in puts in a parade float each year for the Santa Claus Parade. Since we are not allowed to throw candy anymore, we use a few people to hand out candy to the kids. Last year, I didn't go on the float as I wanted to watch the parade with my kids. But before that, I could never have kept up with the float, so I would just ride the float. Well that changed this year, My son rode the float (he's not quite 5) and I walked and gave out candy. Several times it took so long to hand out candy to the little ones, that our float would get about 3 floats a head of us.
Not only was I able to walk the parade route this year, I was also able to run and catch up, without being out of breath. I couldn't believe it. I was cold while we waited around in an open parking lot, and my hands nearly froze taking pictures with my phone, but once we got going, and i got a couple runs in, I was nice and toasty. I was even able to lift my son down from the float and get him into my car. His hands and feet were so cold that he was crying. But it was a nice night parade.
So I had a cold, but very rewarding/satisfying walk. And I'm still awake to write about it.
