....Yep....PB and pickle....who'd thunk, eh??  LOL  Been eating this combo since childhood....really prefer "sweet" pickles or relish but, sometimes, I use "dill pickle relish" instead.  I find that this combo stops the PB from sticking to the roof of your mouth LOL.....very "tasty" too!  Sure not as tasty as those Grilled cheese sammies 'tho!!!!

Hi Pat

I too love cranberries with turkey...plus it makes cold dry turkey easier to swallow.....I find the cranberry sauce tastes the same to me made with splenda as it did when I made it with sugar....and almost no calories or carbs.....

Morning Leanne, and everyone else!

Leanne, how exciting - buying a house!  Sounds like you've got it together.  As for your work cleaning houses - now THAT is some good exercise in itself. :)

Today I'm going to spend the day tidying the house and doing some shopping.  A friend is dropping her son off to hang out with me tomorrow morning and we're going to bake cookies.  So I thought we'd do some Christmas baking while we're at it.  Strangely enough, it's a good time for me to do it, because I'm not craving anything I can't have lately, even when I can smell it.  I just don't want it, and I'm not feeling hungry.  So I'm not worried about temptation.  AND, I'll get to use my brand new Kitchen Aid mixer that I got for my birthday. :)

I also need to pick up some veggies to make chicken stock out of a breast bone that the butcher packed up for me when he skinned and boned a chicken breast I bought.  And tonight I'll finally make Thea's chicken enchilada sauce bake.

Yesterday went so well!  I thought I'd have to leave my meeting early, but because I was just sitting all day (and had lots of down time to relax), I was able to stay.  I packed my lunch in that bento container kit I got, and the thermos section kept my chicken stew really warm for lunch - so glad it works well!

Got up late today, so my food schedule will be condensed.

1 MONTH POST-OP - SOFT FOOD STAGE

B - Premier Protein Shake (drinking it now)

L/S - The last of the leftover chicken stew

S - Thea's chicken bake recipe

S - 1 cup of milk

DAILY TOTALS:

  • 82g protein, 18g fat, 51 carbs (42 net carbs), 665 calories
  • 4 glasses of water between meals and snacks
  • 1/2 hour of walking (didn't do this yesterday and I missed it!)
  • 1 prevacid, all vitamins (got everything in yesterday, woo hoo!)

Have a great day, everyone!

Oh, I know!  That's why I'm amazed, you sound so busy, and the houses on the side are probably great exercise!

RNY, 7.5 Weeks Post-Op

I'm jumping back in after a great trip with the family to Great Wolf Lodge.  I kept on track pretty well yesterday food-wise - the biggest thing I found was that I got so darn thirsty in the waterpark, that I had to resist the urge to gulp water whenever I was near my water bottle or the fountain!

Today we played in the waterpark again for the morning, had lunch at the Lodge, then made our way home.

Here's what I had today:

B - 1 egg (they had a make-your-own station, which made it easy!), 1/4 cup plain yogurt with some blueberries added in, and 1 tbsp. protein powder (brought it with me).

S - 1 protein shake, 1 babybell gouda cheese later on.

L - 1/4 hamburger patty (portion of my daughter's burger without the bun), 1/8 cup tuna with 1/2 tbsp. mayo and mustard, 2 pieces melba toast.

S - 2 tbsp. prunes with 1/4 cup applesauce and metamucil.

D - 1/4 cup chili with 1 tbsp. sour cream and 1/2 tbsp. protein powder.

S - 1/4 cup cottage cheese with 1 pack splenda, cinnamon and 1/2 tbsp. protein powder.

Totals - 848 calories, 46g carbs, 28g fat, 108g protein.

I'm tired from our morning at the waterpark, but I'm still planning to get on the bike for 45 minutes tonight.  Got lots of water and all vitamins in, too!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
