I just ate 6 sugar free chocolate chip cookies
I haven't been there yet - too early out - so no advice, just want to offer support, and thanks for posting.

plunge the toilet and be happy where you are! Seek counseling if you feel out of control or simply take back control (remember Max Smart and control... every time my daughter and I went in the subway last week they had a message over the public address system about an agent and call control, to which I would say "Hello control, its Max" and my daughter would put on her best agent 99 voice and say "ohhh Max" ... you had to be there)! Be kind to yourself, yourself will respond in kind!
I love your line 'I will practice self compassion while I also take responsibility for changing behaviours that don't support my success.' Too many times we are so hard on ourselves but we are only human. I want to remember that line as I am on my weight loss journey. How about trying a hot chocolate in the evening. I have Swiss Miss diet hot chocolate and love it! I find it helps with the cravings after supper and I look forward to it everyday. And you are winning. You got rid of the cookies. I personally cannot keep anything in the house that I cannot control yet. It will come someday. Good luck.
Birdie girl is absolutely right. Keep it out of the house if you feel you cannot control the monster. Yes, we have other issues that must be dealt with CBT for most of us. I think the trick as said by Birdiegirl, is finding a balance. Treat is ok., if it can be controlled. I am petrified now that I am 6 months out. The tea drinking in the evenings works somewhat and if not, I put myself to bed early.
Good luck and be good to you!
you realized you had a moment of weakness and you also know that your past food eating issues are still there..moderation is not something most of us learn until somewhere down the line.
Yes the long winter days are gruesome, but you will learn to cope...I used to eat 4 chocolate covered almonds almost every day...and people would shake their fingers at me...FOR ME..having those on most days and knowing that I was accountable and that was my limit is what worked for me.
For you..maybe taking the two SF cookies out, sitting down with a cup of tea or some other hot beverage will become the norm.
It's a minor slip and nothing to be worried about...we all make those occasional slips, even at 4 years post-op, there is the odd occasion I have one more cookie than I should or one extra bite of rice..there are days when I can and days when I can't or DON'T...all about retraining your brain and it doesn't come over night!
Chin up and onto the next hurdle or test.
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!

Thanks to all for your replies! I agree that throwing them out was the best decision and realizing that I don't need to have this kind of food in my house at all. I did log them on myfitnesspal...that's the only tool I have to keep myself honest. I"m looking forward to discussing this more at my dietician appointment in January. Maybe there is some CBT that I can get referred to.
I'm with the "throw them in the garbage" bunch
I can't have any stuff like that in the house. I have a ginormous sweet tooth and can't stop it ..
which is hard because my son has decided he is going to learn how to bake so three days ago he made southern peach cobbler. The week before that was Lemon Pie.
So we made a deal.. If he wants to make that stuff he has to take it up to his "mancave" so I'm not tempted
Because I will eat it.. I will
