My referral was sent in June 1st, initial contact was in July through Humber orientation was in August surgery in November. I think it depends which centre you are sent to.

My referral was sent to the registry in October 2010, I went for orientation October 2011

and I had my surgery October 25, 2012.

I was referred in April from my family doctor, and had my orientation in September. After that things moved pretty fast for me.

Referral to Humber April 1, 2012 Orientation September 4, 2012 Meet Surgeon October 5, 2012 SW, Dietician, Nurse November 16, 2012 Dr Glazier Nov 22, 2012 Start Optifast Nov 23, 2012 Pre-Op Nov 27, 2012 Surgery December 14 with Dr. Starr

I should have also mentioned that I had a Gastroplasty 12 years ago. No registry back then. Start to finish of the process was only a few months. I am heavier now then I have ever been. Things were great for a few years but have failed miserably. I'm hoping something can be done for me. I'm also thinking of doing Optifast since this seems like a terribly slow process. If I have to wait a year or two for surgery, I can't bare to think of how huge I will be by then. I am in pain now and can't do the things I used to do. Feeling very hopeless at this point.
