Where is your Gym Membership?

Can eveyone tell me.
What Gym do you go to? How much does it cost you? Are you in a contract?
Just looking for something cheaper.
I go to our local YMCA and it cost about $50.00 a month. no contract.

IF you are looking for cheaper I do the local community center!  In mississauga it costs $30/mth for a family of 5 to get access to all fun swims/lane swims and fun skates. 

Lane swimming burns a lot of cals, and is easy on joints, and uses all kinds of muscles....

the athletic club.  1st year is "locked" - then you can get out on a monthly basis

They also have a wonderful ladies (downstairs right) only and men (downstairs left) only facility - in addition to the coed one. (upstairs). And no kids... sorry for everybody with young kids (also bin there done that) - but I like it now that you don't have the little ones in the way. (I know I am going to get slack for this one...) They do have a wonderful babysitting service in the building.

But not a "family friendly" facility. Depends what you are looking for.

Swimming pools are woman and men separate. with hot tub. (pool is warmer that a normal pool what is nice)

Goodlife, $18.08 tax included once every 2 weeks. In my area, I have the choice of one of 2 gyms, one co-ed and one women's only.

If you have a local College or University near by they usually have memberships that are not locked for residents of the area.  Try that, in my area I pay $25 not locked and I have access to weights and trend mill.

I go to the YWCA in Hamilton and pay 30 dollars every 3 months. No contract

Extreme Fitness. It's more expensive than any of those listed. They are sharks when it comes to getting the money out of you. You would have less pressure at a used car lot that also sells vacuum cleaners and life insurance. Major pressure to get a personal trainer too. In the end, once you've joined and done some work, you find it worth the money it costs because you see the results and feel so good. All the classes are free though so there is yoga, spinning, Zumba and junk. Great equipment and plenty of it. The clubs I've been to around Toronto have been clean and well taken care of. Though the hot tub wasn't working at the one we visited yesterday. The sal****er pool was a nice break from the weights and the machines though. As for the personal trainer, I have had great success with mine. Not a drill sergeant but a good guide who knows how to really get my muscles to work without causing problems with my stomach. The cost is prohibative though.
