Ok I used to be a coffee junkie, and I'm glad this oppourtunity has given me a chance to wean off and be fine without but I'm just wondering when I could try either a little cup or even some instant in the protein shake? I'm now almost 2 weeks post op. Good idea or not??

Being only 2 weeks out I would wait. We all have different thoughts on doing coffee. I stay away from caffeine because they said to so I drink decaffeinated tea now. i don't miss the caffeine and I almost wonder if that is the reason I find it easier to say no to the pop. If you really want a coffee  try the decaffeinated coffee. You might just enjoy it. If you really want  coffee than I would wait until you  are totally healed. You will have many answers to this but when it comes down to it you will have to make up your mind.

I've been drinking coffee since I got home from the hospital. I asked my NUT if caffeinated coffee was okay and she said yes, as long as I can tolerate it.

You went through TWH so you can try it whenever you feel comfortable doing so.  I had coffee the day after surgery.

I used to be a coffee junkie as well and I actually really miss it. I went to decaf before I started Opti but it just wasn't the same. I have only tired it once since surgery (decaf) and mixed it with a Premier Protein shake but it just didn't seem to sit right. I haven't had the desire to have any since.

I do know of people who went back to caffeinated coffee right after surgery.

Instant Decaf in a shake...

I am doing Tassimo Skinny Latte's when I want a coffee. 35 calories... 0 fat... 5 g protein. It's a nice thing on a cold evening.

Just bought a Tassimo (for my husband really since we weren't making whole pots of coffee through this process). Where did you find thos "Skinny Latte's"?? I'm having trouble finding much variety in Tassimo discs!!!

Walmart super store... Home outfitters... Anywhere I can buy Tassimo.

They have skinny vanilla lattes, etc if you order direct from their site. There is another company called Coffee Culture where you can order parts of boxes, etc. but the Skinny Latte is almost everywhere.

Future shop... Heck try Canadian tire also.

Funny enough they stock lots of them.
