Hi,

I am having the vertical sleeve surgery done in a week here in Ontario.

What are your thoughts about the Opti-Fast diet which I've been doing for the past 2 weeks?

What should I expect pain wise?

Welcome to the forum and your first post.  Which bariatric centre will you be having your surgery at?

My thoughts of Optifast - I did three weeks of chocolate Opti.  I suffered from Optitrots when I did it.  It was a good time to reflect on what I normally did and how my life was changing.

Pain - that is truly individual.  Personally I took all offered drugs while I was in hospital.  Then didn`t need anything once I was released.  Mind you I was tooting up a storm and releasing the gas so I bet that really helped.

Good luck.

Opti is not easy but it puts you in the best possible position to have the surgery. As the other post mentioned pain is individual. After the surgery take all drugs offered and walk to get rid of the gas.

Good luck
