OT: When Pinterest ideas go terribly wrong!
So, tonight I was making grilled cheese and soup for my girls. I remembered a pin I saw on Pinterest a while back. The idea was titled "Super Fast Way to Make Grilled Cheese". It involved lying your toaster on it's side and then inserting a piece of toast with cheese on it. The idea was that the toaster would act like a broiler. Well.......
The first thing that happened was that smoke began to pour out of the toaster as the cheese began to melt onto the grills that hold the toast in place (did not give the whole idea a lot of thought obviously). In a panic, I hit the "cancel" button. This successfully ejected the toast and it's gooey contents (the stuff not permanently melted to the elements of my toaster), across the room and onto the floor.
Admittedly, I just stood there, blinking in surprise. The whole thing unfolded so quickly, I found myself wondering how everything could have turned out so poorly. Then I promptly sat myself down on the floor and had a right good laugh.
Lesson learned: not everything you see on Pinterest is a super cool trick designed to make your life easier. I am pretty sure the original poster of this "trick" is sitting somewhere, laughing and imagining all the dumbass people who would be so gullible as to think this was a clever idea. HAHAHHAH!
LMAO, that was great... It reminded me of a story my husband told me. When he was 4 years old, he seen a spaghetti sauce commercial that showed the jar of sauce turned upside down with a spoon in it and it was soooooo thick the spoon and sauce wouldnt pour out. Then one day he was at the kitchen table when his mom was making spaghetti and she had 2 jars of sauce on the table, lids off waiting for noodles to cook. Well he turned both jars upside down like the commercial and they poured out all over the table and floor. Well you can imagine the new words he heard his mom say at that minute lol. When she finally calmed down he told her about the commercial and she ended up on the floor laughing her ass off. When i met his mom ( god rest her soul ) for the first time years ago that was one of the first of many stories she told me about Tim my hubby. Thanks for making my day with your post, i was feeling down today and you changed that ... Thanks again Krista..
I've seen some really stupid ideas posted on pinterest. I remember there was one about making this jello/pineapple thing in a can. Some kind of drink or jello or something...yah great if you want tin poisoning!
