Asking my GP for a referral tomorrow

Just an update for those who might be interested...

I had quite a long discussion with my NP and GP this afternoon. They both are very encouraging of the idea and going forward. My GP wanted to connect with a gastroenterologist colleague, in fact she called and left a message with him while I was in the office! Because of my Crohn's history and surgeries, she just wants to get a consult about what would be best for me. I respect that. So she said she would try him again if she hasn't heard from him by Tuesday. I think once she feels comfortable with the safety of it with my past issues.

The only bummer was hearing that my BMI isn't 44 like I thought... it's 50. Sigh.

I went to my doctor, told him that I have been struggling with my weight for most of my life, and was tired of doing so...and gave him all the information. He did ask me to have a blood test done before hand, and then the clinic also asked me to have more blood test done, I think the clinic does a more in depth test. :)
