I have heard anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.  I am thinking 2-4 weeks?

I have a desk job with no lifting involved. I had laproscopic gallbladder surgery years ago and I remember it taking a few days to feel up to doing anything and about a month before I really felt good and strong. I will ask my medical team when I meet them but I was just curious.

I took 6 weeks, to have lots of time to heal and to get my walks in every day...  could have gone back earlier but had STD coverage so made good use of the time off,

What is STD coverage if you don't mind me asking?  I assume it is some sort of insurance?  I have insurance through my work but am not sure how that will work and what I need to do.

I had Short Term Disability coverage... paid as part of my group coverage with my employer.

Oh okay, does that usually cover your entire pay or just part?  I am with Sunlife group coverage.

I am with Sunlife as well...  coverage for me was around 66% I recall...  will need your employer to provide Sunlife with request for coverage approval prior.

Ok, I will get in touch with Sunlife and see.  Was your opti covered?  Not sure if they consider it the same as any other prescription. I do not expect to have surgery before Feb next year at the earliest so I have some time to make the arrangements.  Thank you for your replies - very helpful :0)

Glad to assist...   Opti was not covered.  I was on it for 3 weeks...  $330.00.  All the best in your process...  from personal experience, the results are well worth the process...
