Having a Low Day

Okay so I am on Day 11 of 21 with opti and I have weighed myself and I have not even dropped a pound. Am I doing something wrong. I am drinking water and opti only??

This leads me to think that maybe the surgery will not help with weight loss.

Sorry vent over. LOL Happy Friday Everyone

When I was on Opti, I found I knew when I didn't drink enough water (even though it felt like I did) as the weight didn't come off. How much water are you drinking in a day? I ended up carrying a water bottle with me everywhere that way I remembered to drink and drink and drink (this helps with after surgery as well). Exercise as much as you can and keep doing what you're supposed to be doing. Believe in yourself each day as the surgery will help you with your weight loss.

Good luck!

PS--don't be sorry for venting...we all need to do it at one point in time

Depending on which hospital you are having the surgery at, you can also have sugar free Jell-O and Chicken Soup broth.  If you are feeling hungry you might not be getting enough Opti/Water/Soup broth. You are not doing anything wrong and maybe just need to be patient. The surgery will definitely help, you just need time! Hope this helps.  Have a great day and don't be too hard on yourself!

The purpose of Opti isn't to lose weight, it's to shrink your liver.  Everyone has different results when on it.  Some will lose a lot, and others will lose a little.  It doesn't reflect how you are going to do post surgery.

You'll do fine, just keep with the plan and you'll get there.

catw is right on the money! Opti's main purpose isn't weight loss to my understanding. Hang in there and know that you aren't alone....we all need to vent:-)  Keep up the good work:-)

And a happy friday to you too!

Not seeing the scale move can be discouraging. The surgery will help you lose, the opti might just not be for you. Often when people lose weight on opti it is fluids. So if you were cutting down before the opti you may have already lost the weight you were going to lose on opti. Just keep your eye on the prize. A health liver!

I wasn't bothering with the Broth and SF Jello much either. I think I might have had 6 servings of the broth in the 21 days and 2 Jello. For me it was all about the water   10 measured cups a day nothing less and all 4 Opti fast. everyday no matter how late I was drinking the last of it.

I have been sticking straight to water and opti, I do find that I am drinking crazy amounts of water as the opti seems to dry my mouth.

I still have 10 days, so we will see. Long term goals!! It will get better

"Thanks for your input, suggestions and support, I guess I am just being hard on myself. I know opti is for defatting my organs but I was kinda hoping it would show on the outside LOL

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hang in there...it will all work out.  Stick with your program, you are doing well.  After surgery there will still be times of big losses and stalls but in the long run you will be amazed with the progress you make.
