Shirataki/Miracle Noodles post op
Just wondering if people eat shirataki tofu noodles or miracle noodles post op? I know many can't eat pasta and rice but these are made of other stuff. I use them all the time pre-op and they are a great product.

I do. As a low carb alternative, it's great once you know how to get the smell out. LOL!! I've learned to spice it up flavourfully and of course, that they don't reheat well.
I wouldn't make a point of eating pasta for quite some time though. I'd focus on meat first unless you are vegetarian. Veggies on the side. One or two bites of carbs. People that do this or/and use low carb products, do tend to lose faster than those who eat lots of breads and pastas.

They also do not freeze well at all! Texture like a piece of eraser - yuk.
I LOVE them and have tried most - including miracle rice, which makes an excellent "rice" pudding when mixed with cinnamon and sf vanilla pudding. Yum!
Do you have any issues with them as far as digestion goes as a post-op? How long until you could eat them? Thank you for your reply!

I didn't really touch them until I was at my goal. I mostly ate chicken, fish, cheese, tuna, etc and veggies for my first year.
I avoided pastas, rice etc. unless it was literally one bite. I generally don't have pasta much, even now but I've done the shirataki for lunch with meat in it.
I'm 7 years out now so I can tolerate anything.

I love them too - get the delivered to Ottawa from the same place, although I do find them extremely expensive when compared to regular pasta. My local Sobey's has them for 1.99 a bag, which is cheaper than the low carb store. Food basics had them for one dollar but not anymore and it is too bad. :-(
Great product!
