Good afternoon, I am a newbie as well.
I went to my Doctor on October 21st, had blood labs/urinalysis done and then the referral was sent off to the Bariatric Registry. I go for the sleep clinic on the 12th of December. My Dr decided to go ahead and send me for one so it is already completed.
I think that the hospital will Humber based on my postal code.
I am so excited to have finally taken the first step to a healthier me, I have been overweight since I was about 11 years old, I will be 40 this month. I am 4'11 and weigh 225.5 with a BMI of 46.6. I don't have any other co-morbidities, but I know I am at risk. Diabetes, hypertension, cardiac issues are health concerns within my family.
Like many others I have been on just about every diet there is, spent thousands of dollars to only lose and regain the weight and then some. In May 2012 I weighed 170lbs, by January 2012 I was back over 200 lbs and then slowly I have crept up to where I am now, a few months back I was over 230. My highest weight ever was 241. I fear that if I have gained over 60 pounds in less then 18 months, where I will be 18 months from now........ I need help, I need this tool to help me succeed. I have done so much reading and research on the procedures, to educate myself before I even went to see my Doctor.
I am so excited to meet new people here and hear everyone's stories and follow your journeys.
Good luck to all!
Kim
