AFTER ORIENTATION

Hi all,

 

After completing orientation, I am just wondering whether I should call and bug for surgeons appointment or wait till they call me.

I am at HRRH, if anyone has expereince or recommendations, please let me know.

Call them. You will wait a very long time if you don't :)  I had my orientation in May, and met Dr. Sohi for the first time in July.

They are good about returning phone calls.

call, give it at least 24 hrs though... they say 3 weeks but i only waited 1

You should hear from them within 3 weeks. They called and gave me the Surgeon appointment, but it doesn't hurt to call the office. Just keep in mind that they are super busy. Keep calling if no one answers.

At the Surgeon appointment I got a letter that listed my next 3 appointments (Social Worker, Dietitian, RN).They are really great about trying to make as many appointments for you as they can on the same day to save the number of trips you have to make into the office.

I went yesterday as well, I was in the afternoon session.  I really enjoyed it, Jennifer was very thorough. 

I have to to go see my family doctor this afternoon to have him fill out his paperwork and fax it in. Would have been done last Thursday but the receptionist in his office didn't think he had to fill it out and the appt was canceled. Not too happy about that :-/

Good luck to you and I hope you get some dates soon. I too am going to wait a couple week and then call them if I haven't heard anything.

Were you one of the early birds... I was still sitting filling out my paper work. lol We had Roshne (not sure if I spelled that correctly).  Very informative for me as well.

My GP faxed the paperwork back on Friday.  He didn't require an appointment and I was happy about that!  My family doctor is in Bramalea and I live in Barrie.  I would rather not have to go down for paperwork!

I hear you. I would rather not have to go this afternoon but the receptionist says he likes patients to be there when he fills out the paperwork. I tried to leave the package yesterday when I picked up the photocopy of my ECG. She told me to bring it back when I came today. 

 

I just called them. Their voicemail says "your appointment letter will be sent to you within 12-14 MONTHS of referral letter" :( Do you still call and get it sooner ?

When you call push '0' to get a live person...don't listen to the recordings.
